Law of Correspondence vs. Law of Compensation

You've heard of the law of attraction. Most people have. But there are two other universal laws that don't get nearly enough airtime, and they are likely the reason your current reality looks exactly the way it does right now. Let's change that.

The Law of Correspondence

The law of correspondence is built on one simple belief: your external world is a direct reflection of your internal world.

That's it. That's the law.

So if you're saying you want your business to reach its next level, but internally you're putting things on the back burner, procrastinating, not prioritising what needs to be done, or not truly believing it's possible, that internal reality is the one being projected outward.

You cannot create a new external reality from an unchanged internal one. If you want things to look different on the outside, the first thing that has to shift is on the inside. Your habits. Your mindset. Your commitments. Your decision-making. The beliefs you carry about what is actually possible for you. But the good news is that you have full control over that.

The Law of Compensation

The second law is one most people haven't even heard of, but once you understand it, you'll see it everywhere. The law of compensation is essentially this: you get compensated for how you show up, not for what you say you want.

If you say you want to sell out your next offer but you're not showing up intentionally, don't have a strategy that works, and aren't taking aligned action, the universe isn't going to compensate you for the result you said you wanted. It's going to compensate you for the level you actually committed at.

This is where most people get stuck. The gap between wanting something and acting at the level of that want.

The law of compensation invites you to get really honest with yourself. How are you actually showing up? What level are you actually committing at? Because that's what you're going to get back.

Why People Stop Just Before the Breakthrough

In every universal law, there is a lag. A gap between when you start making the internal shifts and when they show up in your external reality. This is usually where people struggle.

They do the work for a little while, don't see immediate results, and tell themselves "nothing is changing." So they go back to what they were doing before.

However, if your internal belief system is telling you that you're only doing this until you see a result, the laws already know that. The universe is guided by what you do, not by what you say you're going to do. Commitment that has an expiry date isn't really commitment.

What This Means for You Right Now

The next time you make a commitment, for yourself, for your business, for your life, ask yourself:

Do I actually believe this? Or am I only doing it to get an outcome?

Because the law of correspondence and the law of compensation are both watching how you show up. They're both responding to your internal world, your energy, your follow-through.

When your intentions are aligned, your commitments are real, and your actions are moving you in the direction of what you actually want, the universe will start to compensate you accordingly. Not when you say the right things, but when you do the right things.
