The Decision That Changes Everything

Ten years ago, I was Head of Year 13. I drove to work every day, taught two subjects up to GCSE and A level, counted down to the next half term, and saved £50 a week towards holidays I could only dream about.

Everything that's different now didn't come from luck, timing, or certainty. It came from decisions. And every single one of those decisions started the same way — as a question I had to stop spiralling on long enough to actually choose.

The Questions That Almost Stopped Me

Will this work? What if it fails? Will I make money from this? What's the return?

These are the questions that keep the most ambitious women I know stuck in "soon" instead of "now." And I want to be honest with you. I asked myself every one of them too, before I started an Instagram account, before I left full-time teaching, before I ran my first event, wrote my first book, or worked with my first mentor. I never had the answers in advance. I just made the decision.

What You Don't Decide Still Decides Something

The part that most people miss is that the decision you keep putting off isn't neutral. It's not sitting there waiting patiently for you to feel ready. It's already shaping the next month, the next year, the next version of your life — just not the version you actually want.

The biggest mistake isn't making the "wrong" decision. It's believing that the decision you're avoiding right now has no impact simply because you haven't made it yet.

From One Decision to Eighteen Events

I had no idea when I picked a date, chose a venue, and signed a contract for my first event that it would lead to my eighteenth. I had no idea that saying yes to a mentor would lead to the business I run today. None of it started with knowing where it would go. It started with deciding to start.

Your Move

So what decision have you been putting off? Not the big, dramatic one you've dressed up as "not the right time." The real one. The one you already know.

You don't need the full plan before you decide. You just need to decide.
