Tips to Avoid Being Ghosted

As a business owner, in order to land a sale, you have to show up, put in the work, and create your offer to serve your audience. So after all of that work, no one wants to experience being ghosted or being constantly questioned on the value you can provide. But it happens!

Read on for my tips on how to avoid being ghosted and start landing sales.

  1. Provide All Information BEFORE: Before booking a call with a potential client, make sure to provide all necessary information. Transparency from the outset helps set clear expectations and reduces the likelihood of misunderstandings down the line.

  2. Focus on Client Needs, Not Pricing: During your call, prioritize understanding the client's needs and desires. Avoid overwhelming them with pricing details upfront. By focusing on their requirements, you create a connection and tailor your approach to address their specific concerns.

  3. Clear Follow-Up: Set expectations for when and how you'll follow up after initial discussions. This not only shows your commitment but also keeps the conversation alive without becoming intrusive.

  4. Set Time Limits: To avoid spending excessive time in limbo, set time limits for each stage of the sales process. This helps you manage your energy and resources efficiently while maintaining momentum in your sales pipeline.

  5. Clear Communication: Define clear stages leading up to the close and the next steps. This roadmap provides both you and the client with a structured path forward.

  6. Recognize Red Flags: Not every potential client will be the right fit for your business. Look for red flags during your interactions, and don't be afraid to say no if they don't align with your values or goals.

  7. Reciprocate: Act in a way that you would appreciate as a client. Treat your potential customers with respect and understanding.

  8. Email Communication: Incorporate email into your communication strategy. It provides a written record of discussions, clarifications, and agreements, reducing the chances of misunderstandings and providing a reference point for both parties.

In the unpredictable world of sales, these strategies can help you navigate through ghosting, rejections, and the uncertainties that come with the territory. We all deserve to be treated better & create sales in a way that feels good.
