5 Things I’ve Never Done to Make More Money in My Business

After nine years in business, I’ve learned a lot about what actually moves the needle and what absolutely doesn’t. And while entrepreneurs love to talk about the strategies they added, I want to talk about the things I’ve never done… because these are just as responsible for my growth as the things I have done. These choices have kept me aligned, empowered, and able to scale without abandoning myself or my values.
1. I’ve Never Searched for the “Cheapest Option”
When I’m deciding what support I need, I don’t start by asking,“What’s the most affordable choice?”
I ask: What will truly catapult me forward? What will actually shift things? Yes, the investments have stretched me. Yes, they’ve felt sticky at times. But every single time, the outcome has matched the intention: A true catapult moment. A leap. A shift. A new level. I don’t invest to “get by.” I invest to rise.
2. I’ve Never Placed Blame Elsewhere
I’ve worked with all types of mentors—hands-on, hands-off, laid back, structured. No matter the style, my role stays the same:
Ask the questions
Show up fully
Do the work
Communicate what I need
Take responsibility for my growth
Coaching is a two-way experience. They aren’t mind-readers. And I’m not someone who sits back waiting for transformation to happen to me. Empowerment → ownership → results. Always.
3. I’ve Never Waited for Permission
One of the biggest reasons I move fast is because I don’t ask for permission. I take initiative.I act.I implement. And then I bring the data back to my mentor:
“Here’s what I did.”
“What’s next?”
“How can I refine this?”
“Where’s the improvement?”
I’m willing to “mess up,” iterate, and keep going, because forward motion beats perfection every time. My mentor guides me based on what exists, not what’s been swirling in my brain for two weeks while I overthink it.
4. I’ve Never Sold Something Just Because It Worked for Someone Else
I don’t chase trends, copy frameworks, or build offers based on what’s currently popular. I also haven’t tried to build a fully passive or highly evergreen business model and there’s nothing wrong with those who do. But my genius? Being deeply hands-on and creating lasting transformation while supporting clients as they scale to multi–six and seven figures. My business model works for me. It makes me happy. So I stay in my lane and master it instead of chasing the next shiny thing.
5. I’ve Never Shared My Numbers to Convince People to Work With Me
Numbers can be inspiring, but they aren’t the foundation of my sales strategy. I don’t use my income as a persuasion tool. Instead, I highlight:
What my clients achieve
Their progress
Their wins
Their breakthroughs
Their momentum
Because that is what matters most: Not what I make, but what you can create with the right support, strategy, and leadership.
