Your Business Success Is About More Than Money

What does success actually mean to you?

After ten years of mentoring women in business, I've realised that the answer is rarely just about money. It's about what money makes possible. More freedom. More security. More time with your family. The ability to make decisions based on what you want, rather than what you can afford.

And yet, so many women still feel they need to justify wanting more. I think it's time we stopped doing that.

Ambition and Motherhood Can Coexist

One of the biggest lies we've inherited is that ambition and motherhood are somehow in competition. When I became a mum, my ambition didn't disappear. It became clearer. I understood what financial freedom could give my family, and I wanted to build a life where I didn't have to choose between growing my business and being present for my daughter.

I still believe women can have both.

You can love your family and want more for yourself. You can be grateful for what you have and still want to grow. You don't have to make yourself smaller just because other people are uncomfortable with your ambition.

Money Is About Choice

When I ask women why they want to grow their businesses, I rarely hear that they want to impress people. I hear that they want Fridays with their children. They want to stop worrying about unexpected bills. They want to support their families, leave jobs they hate, and have more control over their time.

Money is often the means, not the dream.

That's why I want you to think beyond your next revenue target. What would earning more actually change for you? What would it make possible? What kind of life are you trying to create? Because building a profitable business should give you more options, not simply more work.

Your Success Has a Ripple Effect

I think about this a lot as a mum. My daughter doesn't need to grow up wanting to be an entrepreneur. I want her to grow up knowing she has choices. I want her to see women leading, earning well, and pursuing their ambitions without believing they have to sacrifice the people they love.

And it isn't just our children who are watching. Another woman might see you raise your prices, set a boundary, or take a chance on yourself and realise she can do the same.

We underestimate how much our decisions can influence others. Every time we challenge an expectation or refuse to shrink ourselves, we help make a different future possible. Your business isn't just about what you earn. It's about the opportunities you create, the example you set, and the life you're building.

What Do You Want Your Success to Make Possible?

I want you to stop measuring your success solely by revenue, followers, or how busy you are. Instead, ask yourself what you're actually working towards. What do you want your business to give you? What decisions have you been putting off? And what would change if you started building with that bigger picture in mind?

You don't need to work yourself into the ground to prove you're ambitious. You need a strategy that supports your goals, the confidence to make decisions, and the willingness to build differently.

This is exactly why I created The Shift.

Inside The Shift, I help ambitious women build profitable, sustainable businesses through strategic mentorship, personalised support, and a community of women who understand what you're working towards.

If you're ready to stop figuring everything out alone and start building a business that creates more freedom, more wealth, and more life, I'd love to welcome you.
